They can use water reflections and glass from the mirror. the reason they dont have reflections in a mirror is based on how mirrors used to be lined with silver. silver was seen as a pure metal and they believed pure metal couldn't reflect souless beings like vampires
I believe its part of the vampire regeneration, they have an aura of order. So overtime they and there castle's naturally tidy them selves. It's why they stalk around there layers, just house work. Also may explain the crossing moving water and entering without invitation. I mean who can tidy someone else's house without permission and have you ever tried to tidy moving water, whould probably knock the unconscious with the energy taken by the tidy aura. So yes that's my theory
Opinion of other vampires to help them out?
It's because their shimmer blinds us to their short-comings...
