Chemistry defines who we are. Everything we experience in life induces a chemical reaction in our brains. Our personalities are formed from experiences and interactions with others to include trauma and love. Can someone add to this or provide some insight?

We really don't know how the brain works. It might be purely biochemical, or it might involve some strange quantum function. How memory is retained is still a major question. Disregarding that, I think the physical structure of our neural connections, alongside the neurotransmitters/chemicals concentrations and biochemical reactions, makes up what makes 'us', us.

1You are who you are and sometimes not who you want to be but are. And the notion can be hard to accept by some people. But when you truly embrace of are. Life is easier. All the good, the bad, and the ugly. Wait are you a cop?

"Attachment styles" are worth reading about, it helps explain our friendship and dating styles as a result of childhood experiences.
