9This pertains to any series that has a movie made from it i myself prefer the books there is so much more detail in the stories plus you don't finish a book in just an hour and a half the longer the read the better in my opinion

5Depends on the source material entirely. Example book is worse: Forrest Gump book-racist,ableist slop, movie-a overall wholesome romp with a character to be sided with instead of mocked Example movie is worse: Every adaptation to this point of Wuthering Heights.

9I can't lie sometimes when I read a book and watch the movie afterwards I absolutely despise the movie for cutting out parts from the book

Or making them less important than they are 😤 only one movie which followed most of the parts of the book was IT 2. No.1 I could burn in hell ♡

1For me, it's more about the visualization. So as long as the visuals and world are adapted well, it gets the pass. That being said, there's something a little more fun about imagining for yourself how everything would look when you read it.

9I have a very vivid imagination so sometimes I confuse books I've read for movies when im telling friends about them and then I go to find the movie and realize they only have a book for what im talking about I think its funny because I visualize books like a movie in my head to the point I mistake them for one 😂

9Yes they do like i read the whole maze runner series and watched the first movie and the movie was alright but they changed a lot of important details or atleast ones I found important and it pissed me off so much I didn't bother watching the rest of the movies

5The source material is usually better than the things based off of it. However, the source material isn't always a book, and the things based off of it aren't always movies.

9I agree. The books offers so much more depth. I do like movies, but the book offers so much insight and things often left out of movies. I know why it gets left out, but still books are better to me.

9Idc why they leave it out if they can't make an exact replica of what I've read and I they remove parts or change what happens in a big way it bothers me so bad ill stop watching the movie without finishing it 😂

Depends of the book-movie we r talking abt. As a reader, I prefer books than movies, but sometimes the movie is better than the book (very VERY weird, but can happen)

in most cases i enjoy the book(s) more than the movie(s) although its a different feeling. i do usually try to always read whatever it is before seeing it.

9Replying to all comments here if you've never read the entire book series of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and you like Fictional Commedy I highly recommend it its extremely funny and I love the science fiction in it, it is my favorite book to this day and the movie does it no justice whatsoever it would've been better off without the movie in my opinion
