I had no idea St Augustine was the oldest city in the US. I'd never even heard of that. Thanks for the post!

8It's the oldest continuously inhabited city in the US, and it's beautiful. Still has a very Spanish vibe too, with several original buildings still standing. I take my oldest human every year, we both love historical places. Highly recommend!

I've been to Plymouth Plantation in Massachusetts. They have some of the original buildings from the colony and actors work there as part of a reenactment tourist attraction. I think they also have a fake Mayflower ship with actors you can get on. It was fun as a kid talking to the actors and trying to get them to admit they were actually from the present. But the thing that sticks with me was how old the buildings were and how small the people must have been because the ceilings were shorter than 6 feet tall.
