The occasional indulgence ~

Received a very sweet tart from my aunt, I had no idea a tart could be so expensive before this! Learning something new everyday 😄 This costs more than 7USD, more than some of my usual meals 😂! I was really surprised -- it's made by an award-winning so I suppose the price includes all the dedication & talent behind crafting this piece of art! I really like the crust but as someone who prefers savoury food, this is too sweet for me but I think those who loves sweet food will really like this! I took a long time to eat so I will not waste it and can appreciate it more 🤭 Anyone here likes to pamper yourself with sweet desserts? Or prefer indulging in savoury food like I do? 😋☺️

Aww that's so sweet of your aunt to treat you! Hehe literally 🤭 I love desserts but it can't be too sweet. I always reduce sugar whenever I bake. But I love savoury food, especially spicy!! 😋🤤

Hainanese Chicken rice with the special chilli sauce! 😋🍚🍗 Actually I also really like Mee Sotong, Back Kut Teh and Black pepper crab, hahah -- it's hard to choose 😂, there are so many delicious food, hahaha 🤤 Have you been to Singapore before? Do you also have a fav Singaporean dish? :)) Or any other fav dishes? (Pardon the series of questions, just excited and want to learn more, hahha, p.s. random fact: I have always wanted to visit Canada ~ ☺️ )

Hahaha omg I love all of those too, though I can't say I've tried mee sotong. I was born in Malaysia hehe so I'm quite familiar with Malaysian/Singaporean food. 😋 I've tried making my own special chilli sauce and I can say it's pretty good for my taste, at least I'm satisfied enough when I'm craving it 🤭 We can find bakkutteh packets here but not as good as eating in the streets hehe.. I'm surprised you said black pepper crab, because SG is known for their chilli crab. But I love a good black pepper sauceee 😋 I've been to SG many times younger bc I have family there. A few of my favorites from the SEA region would be Nasi Lemak, Laksa (curry and Penang), Char Kuey Teow, Cendol. I also remember enjoying chargrilled stingray with the lemongrass chilli paste... 🤤 Generally anything spicy, I'm all for it.... 🙈 I wouldn't mind learning more about the variety of cuisine you can get in SG and Msia- it's been so long since I was back. Canada is a very nice, relaxed setting imo. Clean and safe in general 🙂 you should come visit one day!

Sorry, I realised I typed wrongly! I meant Mee Soto, not the Sotong, hahaha. I am too much of a sotong 😅😂🐙 I think it's actually an Indonesian dish, rather than Singaporean 🤔 It's somewhat similar to Mee Rebus. Ooh hi there, my neighbour! Malaysian food are really yummmmy (+ a lot more variety than Singapore ones!)😋 Woahh, home made chilli 🤤🤤 By the way, is it hard to find spicy chilli in Canada? When I travel to countries outside SEA, usually the chilli sauce isn't really spicy or maybe there are places that just don't give us chilli sauce when we eat out Ah yes I actually really like chilli crab too, it's just that I like the taste of pepper a lot 😍😍 , like even when I drink mushroom soup, I like it with lots of black pepper, hahha Oh goodness Nasi Lemask, Laksa, stingray... I feel hungry just reading this comment, hahahha. My favourite Laksa is the Katong Laksa but haven't had in for a long time! Talking about spice, it seems like spicy food is something that many of us from SEA really love! 💗Hmmmmm these days, I actually eat more non-local food as there's a lot more stores that sell non-local cuisines and most of the local cuisines are are in hawker centres or specialised stores. There's a store near my place run by Malaysians that I love to buy from but they don't sell Malaysian food, they sell Japanese food 😅😂 I will share more pictures of local cuisines if I happen to come across them :D Oooh I definitely do wanna go visit, probably can only after next year though as this year is my last year of studies (studying Master's) so I can only start saving up next year to go to Canada ~
