Do these dating apps ever have you questioning if you're even attractive? Like, do people look at what I have to say and go, nope, gross? What is going on?

Nothing is wrong with you it just takes time to find that person

It's mostly the nature of dating apps.They're less direct and people ghost or do something else. Conversations just fizzle out or lead to nothing. You just gotta accept it, and move on. Doesn't say anything bad about you necessarily, sometimes this stuff happens.

Sometimes the right swipes are accidental...it happens to me. May be theirs was accidental and were not really matching you. You don't have to worry about those don't want to talk anyway. You did your part and reached out. I wish people would say it was accidental or may be they did not notice something in my profile before, that's non negotiable now etc. But it's very rare anyone would do that.

Things falling on deaf ears might just be because men are awkward tbh 😂 when I have a conversation with women I really have to wake up sometimes because the number of subtle hints when I'm a bit tired can actually destroy everything you thought you knew about me

I have considered my age as a factor. I'm not getting younger, but also neither are my matches. I also consider the standards I have. If the goals of men and women are different, per what another said in this thread, then my want for communication and connection would be counterproductive to their goal. Thereby interest being lost in favor of an easier catch. Ie less time, effort and brings them closer to the end goal

My point isnt about what you want, its about what men generally want ( ie what's in demand). Guys your age and older will still prefer younger women. That is why women from the ages of 20 to 25 are in the most demand among men. A good example of what men's dating history if they could date whoever they want is Leanardo Dicaprio. The difference between this celebrity and most guys is that most guys will settle for the best they can get. Women often do a similar practice but with height and money.

Ngl, I don't even think of myself as attractive. I let my actions speak for themselves and if someone truly finds me interesting or attractive then they will likely just say so :)

Honestly and I don't mean to brag. The opposite actually. I can't remember the last time someone matched with me and wasn't overzealous about showering me with compliments about the way I look, dress, do my hair.

Nor saying you're not pretty but guys do that with most women on these apps. It's been proven that even unattractive women get loads of compliments on online dating, far more than guys who are more attractive than they are, because of the prevalence of men and relative scarcity of women. I've seen women who are frankly nothing to look at delude themselves into thinking they're beautiful because they got complimented a lot by guys playing the numbers game on apps. I'm.not venturing an opinion on your looks,but if your ego has taken a boost because of compliments on dating apps, then it shouldn't. Plenty guys on apps message every woman telling them all sorts of nonsense. Don't become arrogant because of a lie like online dating. It's 100 per cent rigged in women's favour

Some dating apps make certain people's profile stand out due to the algorithm of photos, timing and how much money you spend.

I've always wondered that about using these apps because I have much much better luck being shy and nervously asking some girl for her number in public than on these apps. I think people are just very selective on these apps more so than irl. You're gorgeous so never let these apps make you think you're not.

I've been on some for about 2 years and I've probably gotten 20 likes/matches almost none of which made it past hellos because I don't get responses. So yes, but all we can do is keep trying and push on.

In short, yes haha. But that might be it. You have to ask "how long do convos last (if at all)". Imo as time progresses, people screen via looks then bio then interpersonal skills then personality. Identify when your convos die and you'll find what needs to be improved.
